Can I pick which utilities are transferred?
Yes of course! When you are free to select which utility is transferred and also you can choose your preferred supplier as Tili and TheHouseShop provide you with a whole market approach. You can specify which services or utilities you want us to handle. and all of it is online!
Why is it free?
We have partnered with Tili who created an automated system that removes much of the manual work involved in transferring utilities from your old to your new address.
Together with Tili, we can help to move your existing suppliers to your new address, but we can also help to find you better deals with new suppliers or better packages with your current suppliers – so you can save money and we benefit from a referral fee. It’s a win-win for both of us!
Will you handle my final bills for the old property?
No, we only handle the transfer of your utilities from your old to your new address. You will still need to liaise with your providers to pay your final bill for the old address.

Gas and electricity
We will do a price comparison for you to find you the best deal in your area and even contact your old supplier to let them know you’re moving. All you’ll have to do is decide which deal you would like and inform them of your meter readings on your move-in date.
Water and council tax
We can contact your new council and water supplier to inform them that you’re moving into the area and set up the account for you. We will also let the council and water supplier of your current property that you will be moving out.

Checklist for moving
There are so many things to remember when moving homes, so we thought it best to give you a checklist to help you along the way.
Contacting your utility suppliers
You need to let all your current suppliers know that you are moving out, for broadband and phone try to do this as early as possible, as you may need to give a months notice to cancel. For electricity and gas suppliers, we can contact them on your behalf.
Have a big clearout
Moving is the perfect time to go through your possessions and decide what's not worth keeping anymore. Some charity organisations such as The British Heart Foundation will collect unwanted furniture, homewares and clothes and take them away for free.
Pack and label everything
When packing everything, make sure to label what's inside the box as it will make your life a lot easier when unpacking on the other end.
Settle your outstanding bills
You don’t want any bills coming back to haunt you when you’re settled in your new home, so pay off your council tax, utilities and broadband/tv bills before you move. For electricity and gas, make sure you take a meter reading on the day you move out.
