If you are visiting a city for an extended period or you just don’t want to lay down roots in one place for one reason or another, a furnished apartment may be for you. The burden of having to move your stuff from one city to another is not only expensive but also exhausting. If you are not sure what to expect in a furnished apartment, here is a look at what’s included in each room.

  1. What’s in the bedroom

Ideally, you will have a nice bed, a mattress, and everything that should be in a bed, including comforter, sheets, and pillows. Check out this mattress disposal guide if you already had a mattress and some bedding because you won’t need them anymore. You can also expect a nightstand and a chest of drawers for your delicate stuff. In some bedrooms, you will also find a rug and a desk where you can do some work in the evening.

2. Furnished apartment living room

At the very least, you will have a couch or a set of sofas, coffee table and a TV with the stand. In some places, the living room will also have a carpet, bookshelf, and ottoman. If you are lucky, you will find a great stereo system, chandelier, and lamps.

In most cases, you will also find an adjoining dining room that comes ready with a dining table and chairs. The dining area can also have a chest or cupboard filled with dinnerware, glassware, and linens.

3. Included in the bathroom

Every bathroom, even in unfurnished apartments, will come with basic built-in essentials like toilet, sink, bathtub, taps, and cabinets. The extras you can expect in a furnished apartment include shower curtains, towels, cleaning supplies, tissue holder, and soap dispenser. Some bathrooms also have decorative pieces like art and rugs on the floor.

4. Kitchen supplies you will get

The heart and soul of a furnished apartment is the kitchen, and this is where landlords spare no expense. Besides the usual cooker, dishwasher, and refrigerator, you can expect to find a microwave, blender (like a Ninja), coffee maker, and toaster. Some even come with a food processor in case you need to grind.

However, it’s the little things that really make a difference. A furnished apartment will provide you with the delicate utensils that make moving such a nightmare. The cupboards will have glassware, dishes, cutlery, and bakeware. All you have to do is shop for food and other supplies to start cooking your favorite meals.

5. Basic utilities and cleaning supplies

Over and above, having furniture and everything you might need in a house; a furnished apartment can also have essential utilities. These include a working telephone, internet, cable, and gas. The landlord expects the house to remain sparkling clean so they provide cleaning essentials for you. You will find a mop, dustpan, broom, and vacuum cleaner. In some apartments, they also provide a laundry basket, hamper, iron box, and ironing board.

There are a lot of advantages of renting a furnished apartment besides convenience. All you need to do is pack your briefcase or backpack and move into your ready house.
