A terrace is a fully supported, above ground level exterior space devoted to social activity. Unlike a balcony, which is cantilevered, a terrace is supported from below with walls. A terrace is also always open to the sky. Common activities on a terrace include relaxation, social gatherings, sunbathing, gardening, and outdoor cooking. Hot tubs, jacuzzis, and swimming pools are sometimes found.
