With the run up to the general election gaining momentum as each party fights harder for votes, the property market is stalling, as sellers hold out for the results before putting their homes on the market.
And the number of buyers registered with each branch fell from 425 in January and February, and 397 in March, down to 381 in April.
However, with the supply of available homes to buy remaining tight, the proportion being sold for above the asking price increased to one in 14 in April, from one in 20 in March.
The NAEA blamed the falls on the uncertainty triggered by the snap General Election, saying that buyers were putting their plans on hold until the result is clear.

Homes within easy reach of upmarket food store Waitrose can command a £36,480 premium, claims a study.
The “Waitrose effect” added the largest uplift in house prices. Other major supermarkets added £22,000 on average to nearby properties.
Researchers found Marks & Spencer, which had the second highest premium, added an average of £29,992 to the value of a property.

Uber are attempting to corner customers from the UK’s renters market by teaming up with a Build To Rent developer in a new deal.
Uber and a Build To Rent developer have announced a PropTech deal which will see the transport company getting involved in the private rental sector for the first time.
Tenants at schemes operated by BTR firm Moda Living will receive up to £100 in Uber credits per month if they agree not to have a car parking space in the building. Using a bespoke app, residents will hire an Uber when they wish.
Moda Living is currently building some 6,000 rental-only homes in major cities across England and Scotland, coinciding with locations where Uber operates.

The most recent report from Halifax has uncovered the most expensive seaside locations for property in the UK.
In fact, the report indicates that house prices in UK seaside towns have risen by a quarter during the last ten years.

According to the lender, the average property price in Britain’s seaside towns increased by 25% during the last decade, from £181,060 in 2007 to £226,916 in 2017. This was the equivalent to an average rise of £382 per month.

Possibly the coolest apartment block ever has been revealed at the new Embassy Gardens development by Battersea Power Station. The “sky pool” will act as a bridge between the two blocks of flats and is completely made of glass, giving swimmers incredible views whilst they do their laps.
The first homes overlooking a spectacular glass-encased outdoor swimming pool that’s suspended 10 storeys up, providing a “bridge” between two apartment blocks, have been unveiled at Embassy Gardens in Nine Elms, the new riverside district wrapping around Battersea Power Station.
Completely transparent and measuring 27.5m long, 5.8m wide and 3m deep with a water depth of 1.2m, the “sky pool” is a world first, according to developer EcoWorld Ballymore.
Using 20cm-thick glass, the pool appears to float in the air and resembles a giant aquarium, offering sweeping views of London. Certainly it adds glamour to the 2,000-home complex being built alongside the new US Embassy.
