Madonna’s ex husband has come up with an ingenious way to save both money and the planet by using the power of the sun. The film director wants to install 200 solar panels in a field which would supply all the energy his mansion would require. The plan would make the property completely self sufficient and fits into his other green plans
Mr Ritchie is obviously taking green issues very seriously as he plans to build three green houses that will use under soil heating from eco friendly woodchip boiler.
Even with the grey skies of the UK solar panels can generate electricity and as technology gets even more efficient you can see huge savings in your Electricity bills. When you generate excess electricity you can even sell this back to your electric company so they owe you money!
Unlike Guy Rtichie most home owners don’t need planning permission for most domestic solar electricity systems, as long as they’re below a certain size – but you should check with your local planning officer, especially if your home is a listed building, or is in a conservation area or World Heritage Site.
