Licensed investors need to keep internet listings healthy and professional. So, to maintain the quality of your internet listings, investors require high-quality photographs that highlight a home’s features.

Any realtor knows what role a picture plays in selling the house and why one needs to make watermarks. It is difficult convincing the buyers when they doubt getting the best material for their buck. To make a deal real quick, you require professionals photos of the house.

What is the need for watermarking real estate photos?

Watermarking is one of the best ways you can protect your images. It is a text or photo placed on another image that makes it difficult to copy.  Watermarks are mostly transparent, so the photos are visible below the marks. These can be large or small and have the same goal of protecting your assets.

Watermarking means no one else can use your photographs without your permission. It demonstrates authenticity, so it is quite helpful in building trust.

In case other parties use your images for other purposes, the buyers will know that the photographs belong to someone else. You can also take legal action against the parties using your images on other sites.

Watermarking practices all the real estate agents should follow.

First, see if your listing portals and local MLS allows visual watermarks. If not, use copyright fillings to protect images on the online portals. Check the listing rules of watermarking online, plus it is relatively simple to use online tools.

  • Where can you place the watermark? The watermark should not cover the picture’s critical area or hide its main elements. The best place to put a watermark is the photograph’s bottom right corner. However, you can eliminate anything that is on the photograph’s edge.

If you place the watermark near the centre of the image, it becomes quite challenging to crop out that part. While putting the watermark in the centre, make sure it doesn’t disrupt the image’s beauty. Your images need to look attractive, and placing the watermark in the wrong way can negatively affect your attempt to sell.

  • What should be the colour of watermarks? The watermark colour should maintain a balance between transparent and opaque. You don’t have to make the mark invisible or too visible to obstruct the photograph.

The watermark needs to be elegant, and you need time to research and test to find the perfect one. Ensure that you don’t make the watermark too transparent that no one can see it, and it will be of no use.

  • What should the watermark consist of?  Watermark showcases the right of ownership. It usually consists of the real estate agent’s name, contact details, and website address. So, anyone who sees the watermark will know where to reach for more information.

How can watermarks help real estate agents?

  • Strengthen brand:

When people search for properties online, the main focus is the property itself and not the brand. Once they want to book a viewing, they contact the real estate agent through the details’. It means that even if thousands of buyers are looking at your brand, the awareness will be relatively low.

There is one way to increase awareness by paying to advertise on other property portals. However, if you add your logo as the watermark, people will know who you are whenever they see the photographs.

  • Give a professional touch to the listings:

Photos with watermarks give a branded look to the photographs, making them look professional to attract more buyers. Putting your name on something gives a sense of confidence to the buyers.

If they potentially find your logo on photographs online, they might visit your listings to look for similar properties.

  • Not losing the properties to competitors:

Some agencies save money, cut corners, and steal other sites’ images online. However, with watermarked images, it is almost impossible to do so. You can protect your professional photos from your competitors by putting your logo on the photographs.

No one wants to pay extra for professional pictures to get them stolen by others. To prevent the competitors from taking credits for your photographs, make sure you add a watermark to the images.
