What is CubbyHole?

CubbyHole.co.uk is a new UK property portal that allows homeowners to sell their property without the help of an estate agent. Cubby Hole allows sellers to create their own property advert and market their homes for sale on their website from £60 per month. Buyers can also search for property on CubbyHole, where they will find homes for sale from private individuals. The CubbyHole website describes the company as:

"a new and innovative property portal providing all the tools you need to buy and sell property"

Selling Privately with CubbyHole

While most people will sell their home with the help of an estate agent, there are a growing number of homeowners who are ditching the agent altogether and selling their properties directly. Private house sales are still relatively rare in the UK, but as more and more people realise how much money they can save by selling privately, new services are emerging to meet this demand.

CubbyHole allows users to create their own property advert by uploading images, writing a description, uploading documentation such as floor plans and EPCs and highlighting any special features. Sellers then pay CubbyHole £60 per month to advertise privately on the site.

Selling Privately with TheHouseShop

TheHouseShop.com is the UK's only whole market portal which allows anyone and everyone to advertise property for sale or to rent - including professional estate agents and private property owners. If you are looking to sell or let your property, then TheHouseShop can help you compare all your options and show you every available route to market, from the DIY approach of private sales/lettings to the comprehensive service of a tradtional High Street estate agent.

Sellers and landlords can advertise for FREE for an unlimited time on TheHouseShop, making this the cheapest way to sell or let in the UK.

TheHouseShop has recently unveiled a brand new advert creation system that makes it quicker and easier than every before to list a property for sale or to rent. Private sellers or landlords can create their property advert in less than 5 minutes by uploading photos, writing a description, uploading EPCs and floor plans and ordering any professional services or extra marketing tools that they are interested in.

Once your property ad has been published it is immediately distributed to a network or popular property websites including Home.co.uk, Trovit, Nestoria and many more, giving you excellent exposure for your property. All of TheHouseShop's listings are also promoted on their popular social media accounts free of charge.

Cubby Hole - Peter Lampe

cubby hole

Peter Lampe is the serial investor behind the new Cubby Hole property portal. He has background experience with major American and UK advertising agencies, PR companies and marketing groups. He does not have any previous experience in the property sector and has said that:

"We're not trying to change the industry, we don't want to compete with Rightmove and Zoopla or estate agents, we just want to say there's a new way of doing things"

Mr Lampe believes that the low entry price for Cubby Hole's services will encourage people to try it out, commenting in an article in the Telegraph about Cubby Hole that "A lot of people will put it on as a punt. I went out for an Indian meal the other day and it was £60. Someone might put it on just to see if it will sell", he said.

Peter Lampe has set up the company in Discovery Park in Sandwich and currently employs a team of 23 people, but aims to recruit another 30 to 40 employees over the next few months as they set up and manage their evening and weekend call centres. Peter has spent the last year designing and developing a multi-million pound public relations and marketing campaign for Cubby Hole, which you can find out more about below.
